Craftsmen in Germany are increasingly under pressure: rising consumer demands, skills shortages, digitization, more complex products etc. are important topics that move them daily and prepare them sleepless nights.
Craftsmen have already reached their capacity limits, orders are increasingly rejected. In spite of high consumer demand growth opportunities in the traditional distribution channels are limited for manufacturers therefore.
How can manufacturers increase sustainably their market share in spite of the limited craftsmen capacities ?
The solution is not only to develop innovative products but also innovative services to fill the craftsmen with excitement. Dialogue and esteem are important prerequisites for understanding their challenges and for finding innovative services. Many craftsmen are looking for an intensive dialogue with manufacturers to receive support for their pain points such as skills shortage, digitization etc.. This is a great opportunity for manufacturers to derive the right strategies and activities. Methods such as Interviews, Design Thinking and Best Practises from adjacent areas assist in the discovery of innovative and unique ideas. The quick test projects at crafts reduce the risk of failure. This is the partnership that craftmen are looking for today. The investments in these solutions pay-off in more sales and customer loyality for the manufactures in the long run.
When was the last time you took one hour off to have a conversation with your craftsmen?
